I’m an independent Script Consultant, providing development advice for a select number of writers and directors across a range of genres, covering feature, short film and novel; and author of the forthcoming Bloomsbury/BFI book about script editing and development –‘We Have Some Notes…’
I’m currently the Executive Producer for Masterclasses & Bridges to Industry at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) – the UK’s leading training institution for filmmakers, which was awarded a BAFTA for Outstanding Contribution to British Cinema in 2017.
Previously, I worked at Right Angle, part of the script and series editing team behind BAFTA and Emmy winning, Oscar nominated, animated adaptations of classic stories for BBC, Channel 4 and HBO.
I have over twenty years’ experience in various aspects of script editing and story development. Initially at Right Angle, where projects I was lucky enough to work on went on to win BAFTAs, Emmys and an Oscar nomination; continuing at The National Film and Television School, overseeing development on student and graduate projects with companies such as BBC Film and Film4; as well as working independently with a select number of writers and directors. I’ve also enjoyed writing non-fiction articles alongside my full-time work for over twenty years; specialising in filmmaking, heritage and countryside.
Formal training includes courses with the Script Factory, and being awarded a distinction for a Script Development Diploma from the National Film & Television School (NFTS).
I’m a member of Women In Film and Television, The Society of Authors and the British Independent Film Awards – in 2021 and 2022 being part of the sub-committee for Screenwriting and Directing, and previously a member of the BAFTA jury for Short Animation.
