Masterclasses

Running the NFTS Masterclass programme I’ve had the privilege of arranging, producing and hosting events with inspiring, and incredibly kind, filmmakers.  There’s a collection of quotes and advice from some of the speakers in this blog post – “Cynicism is the death of creativity”

Since the pandemic, NFTS Masterclasses moved online for our students. We created a compilation featuring clips from some of the filmmakers who kindly gave online Masterclasses in Spring/Summer 2020; incuding Edgar Wright, Lone Scherfig, Ben Wheatley, Krysty Wilson Cairns, Judd Apatow, Sam Mendes, Billie Piper, Corin Hardy, Noel Clarke, Danny Boyle and many more – you can watch the full 90minute film here:

Here’re some photos from a few of the previous Masterclasses that were held in person:

“Fight to get energy into your scripts because writing itself is a very passive process – you’re sedentary,  fight to put energy into the script so that it’s not just people talking to one another.” – Russell T Davies.
